It’s All In The ‘Metrics’

This link, here, is twenty-four minutes and seven seconds of truth on what’s really happening with A.I. (not advice, not a recommendation).
Of course, the YouTube channel has much more on the topic but the link above is a good place to start.
From a former engineer, subjected to ‘Six Sigma’ nonsense back in the day, I feel for the engineers having to pump up metrics for the ‘Leaderboard’.

I learned a little six sigma in college but never really questioned it. Now that I think about it, maybe it suffers from the same problems of overly centralized planning. But that’s just my guess.

Thanks,
After someone works in the corporate world for any length of time, let’s say 10-years or more and if you are a top performer, realization sets in that something is wrong. Decisions coming down from ‘on high’ don’t make any business sense.
Or in the case of Six Sigma, it could help but management shoots itself in the foot by demanding that unqualified people be in charge of implementing the plan.
So, it might have been a good idea, but it’s destroyed right along with the moral of the engineers (in this case) who really want to perform well.
Can’t imagine what it’s like to (attempt to do) work in the corporate world today.
I appreciate the input.
Regards,
Paul
