Will tomorrow post a new daily high for ALL, and make it an even thirteen?

For that matter, why focus on (boring) insurance, anyway?

Many are focused on precious metals, bonds and the A.I. bubble.

Not a bad thing in itself.

However, behind the scenes, insurance companies are lumbering like The Great White Whale.

AMD … Countdown to Collapse?

It’s The ‘Fundamentals’ … Not

AMD is not the only ticker with a perfect, or near-perfect Fibonacci count; Jabil (JBL) has one as well (not advice, not a recommendation).

For JBL, from the all-time highs to today’s nascent reversal, is a Fibonacci 34 Days.

Seen in the AMD chart, its Fibonacci counts thus far, indicate probability for inflection points.

As is typical with this type of analysis, as soon as it’s obvious, it morphs into something else.

The question for AMD: Will it post straight down from here, a test, then down, a recovery higher, or something else?

Jabil … Volume at Support

Similar to the SOXX?

We just saw what happened to the SOXX when volume increased at support, link here.

From that update:

“Instead of volume contracting on the test (sellers backing away), it has increased (blue arrow).”

Next session, SOXX broke lower and kept on going.

Now, Jabil closed near support; volume increased 43.2% over the prior session.

It’s also possible, price action is posting a trading channel Fibonacci 13-Days wide (not advice, not a recommendation).

Semis … Set The Stage

This, Is The Spot

Well, ladies and gentlemen, we’re at the spot where any move, in any direction, may set the stage for what’s to come.

Last Friday, the SOXX penetrated support, then rebounded in the initial stages of a Wyckoff spring.

Today, price action came back to test.

This type of behavior is bullish, suggesting a move higher; however, there’s a problem.

Instead of volume contracting on the test (sellers backing away), it has increased (blue arrow).

For the test to indicate probability of complete, Monday’s open needs to be higher, with a new daily high (not advice, not a recommendation).

Ciena’s ‘Crash’ History

Multiple (multi-year) Implosions

Since 1998, Ciena has corrected, imploded, or crashed by over 50%, seven times.

Declines like -51.03%, -51.49%, -66.18%, -79.82%, -89.95%, -91.20% and the big one; dot-com era near total wipeout at -98.40%.

So, here we are, market valuations by some measures that long-ago exceeded dot-com numbers (not advice, not a recommendation).

Ciena Corp., CIEN, Quarterly

Unlike Corning and ON Semi, Ciena has (so far) not recovered to dot-com levels.

Notice at the right side, we’ve had five straight quarterly advances with the subsequent open, at-or-near the previous close.

That is, until the current quarter.

Amphenol … At-The-Edge

It’s not often there’s such a well defined risk on any trade, long, or short.

In the case of Amphenol, all-time highs, followed by a reversal and close below resistance.

That’s the definition of a Wyckoff ‘Up-Thrust’.

Such a set-up does not guarantee anything.

We’re interested in minimizing the risk as much as possible.

In the case above, if short, a good point for exit on a failed position would be last Thursday’s high at 173.00 (not advice, not a recommendation).

Construction Sector … Breakdown

Weakest of Three

Semiconductors weren’t the only ones going over the edge yesterday.

Engineering & Construction was as well (not advice, not a recommendation).

Stories like this, may be a clue.

Of the three largest caps, PWR, FIX and EME, the weakest price action (at this time) is Emcor Group Inc., EME.

Yesterday, was a breakdown through a long term trendline (dashed blue line).

‘Normal’ market behavior, like discussed with the semi’s (yesterday), is to come back for a test (not advice, not a recommendation).

If that test happens, there’s no required timeframe.
