Fibonacci, and MACD

Entegris reported earnings last week, on the tenth.

Market response was to launch into and up-thrust condition along with hitting the top of a terminating wedge, as well as printing a Fibonacci 161.8%, projection.

Technical details (up-thrust, removed for clarity) are shown on the daily chart below.

Another, ‘Repeating’ Pattern

Lattice broke out to all-time highs on its latest earnings; here, here and here.

If you believe the press, it’s ‘buy’, ‘buy’, ‘buy’ (not advice, not a recommendation).

If we look at the actual truth, the price action, we (potentially) see something else.

The chart below, shows we’re at The Danger Point®, where it won’t take much to go either way.

Lattice Semiconductor LSCC, Daily Close

At this point, LSCC is in ‘up-thrust’ position.

Being at that location, does not guarantee a reversal.

It says, we’re at the point of instability. Price action needs to decide who’s in control, bulls or bears.

Once, in a Generation

Michael Bordenaro’s latest update, had this in the comment section (paraphrasing):

‘It’s likely, few people realize how far this is going to go, and how long it’s going to last.’

With that said, we’ll look at a once-in-a-generation event, Texas Instruments.

Not since the height of the dot-com mania, has there been a repeat of the indicator shown below.

Two massive Force Index spikes, a generation apart.

In the dotcom mania, the spike was not the top; that came a month later.

Massive Wedge Throw-Over

The last update on TEL, was over six months ago, link here.

The chart in that update showed a massive long-term wedge.

At the time, price action was right at the upper boundary.

What came next, was an apparent ‘throw-over’ that’s lasted six months (not advice, not recommendation).

If price action declines decisively back into the wedge, we’ll discuss measured move(s) at that time.

Corning’s Glass Ceiling

If you believe the financial press, link here, then we’re in the clear for Corning as it’s part of the A.I. mania.

Throw in some analyst ‘buy’ ratings and it’s good to go. 🙂

If we actually look at the truth, the price action itself, it may be telling us something different (not advice, not a recommendation).

The long-term perspective shows us it took nearly a generation for GLW to get back to ‘dotcom’ levels.

In fact, the news release in the first link above, resulted in the gap-higher straight into decades long resistance.

Now, you have to ask yourself: “Do you feel lucky?”

Is GLW, somehow going to miraculously push through (and hold) that resistance of many years, on just one attempt?

In the markets, anything can happen.

It’s no secret the ‘consumer’ is up against a wall.

We’ve all been hearing that for a long time. Are we close?

Well, some sectors are already rolling over.

The focus (on this site) for a while, has been ‘consumer discretionary’ and related.

Yesterday, was DoorDash. Today, is Las Vegas.

CrowdStrike … Tests Breakdown

Similar to Caterpillar

Our favorite chief, cook, and bottle washer of the negative P/E, currently standing at -379, is about the same as the last update.

The difference from then, is that price action has got itself into a potential test of a wedge breakdown.

Ever since the ‘update glitch‘ wipeout, it’s never been the same for CRWD.

CrowdStrike CRWD, Daily Close

Yesterday’s action closed higher. So far today, trading is continuing the move.

It’s important to note that volume is not remarkable; meaning, the last high-volume day was at the earnings release on December 2nd, and 3rd.

Unlike CAT, in the prior update, we don’t have a decisive indicator (volume) for a trend break (not advice, not a recommendation).

It’s as if CRWD, is banging around (with low volume), trying to find a direction.
